About

Quran Chat is a free service that helps you understand the verses of the Holy Quran through conversation: ask about a verse or a meaning, and get a clear answer — right here on the website or on WhatsApp.

Why we built it

Many people read the Quran and pause at a verse they want to understand, but don’t have the time to search through books of tafsir. We wanted to bring understanding closer to every reader — in the place they already spend their time: a chat on their phone.

Who is behind it?

Quran Chat is a community initiative from Watsio, the Arabic-first WhatsApp Business platform, offered free of charge to anyone who wants to understand the Book of Allah.

How it works

  • You write your question, or name the verse by surah and verse number.
  • The assistant shows you the tafsir of the verse, quoted from recognised books of tafsir with the source cited.
  • You can follow up with more questions in the same conversation, whenever you like.

What we care about

  • Integrity: we always encourage you to return to the verse text and recognised books of tafsir.
  • Sourcing: every text is attributed to its source among the books of tafsir.
  • Simplicity: no account to create and no app to download.

Want an assistant like this for your organisation?

Quran Chat runs on Watsio, the same platform organisations use to serve people on WhatsApp: a shared team inbox, an assistant that answers from the organisation’s own content, approved WhatsApp campaigns, and website-to-chat handoff. If your charity, school or company needs something similar, we’d be glad to talk.

Note: This service is a tool for understanding and reflection — it is not a source of fatwas. Texts are quoted verbatim from recognised books of tafsir, with the source cited; please refer to qualified scholars on religious matters.
