How Quran Chat answers: the text comes from tafsir books, not from AI
We work out what you are asking, find the verse you mean, then show you the tafsir text exactly as it appears in the book, with the book named. We do not write, summarise or issue fatwas.
From your question to the answer
- You ask in your own words on this site or on WhatsApp, in Arabic or English: by surah and verse number, by part of a verse, or about the meaning of a word.
- We work out what you mean and identify the verse you are asking about.
- We quote the tafsir word for word from a named tafsir book, without changes or shortening.
- We name the source: every answer shows the book the text was quoted from.
What we commit to
No answer is written by AI; every text is quoted word for word from tafsir books. Your question’s text may be sent to an AI provider only to understand what you mean, and WhatsApp voice notes are turned into text the same way. Your name and number are not sent with it.
- The Quran text is the Uthmani text from the Tanzil Project, with no change to its letters.
- Every tafsir text is attributed to its book, and we do not choose between scholars’ views.
- The service is free, with no ads, no data selling and no subscriptions.
What we do not do
Quran Chat helps with understanding and reflection; it is not a fatwa service. Questions about what is permitted or forbidden should go to qualified scholars and official bodies.
Our limits, plainly
Quoting word for word guarantees the text is exactly what the book says. It does not guarantee we understood your question. We may read a word differently from what you meant and quote the tafsir of another verse. So:
- Check the surah and verse number in the answer before relying on it.
- If it is not the verse you meant, ask again with the surah name and verse number, for example “Tafsir of Al-Isra 17:23”.
- We test question understanding against a fixed set of questions before every update, and add every reported mistake to it once fixed.
Found a mistake?
We review every report. Send us the question and the answer: Report on WhatsApp
Who is behind it
